Multi-site deployments
IT administrators or AV integrators managing NETIO devices across multiple locations — offices, server rooms, retail branches — can access and reconfigure any device without dispatching a technician on-site. Change device settings across all sites from a single browser session. There are several examples:
- Change output name, sequence or delay
- Adjust device schedule
- Setup and update new watchdog
- Configure Condition and Rules
- Other
Initial setup and provisioning
Once a device is connected to NETIO Cloud, it can be fully configured remotely from day one — even if the device is physically installed in a location where local network access is restricted or unavailable to the administrator.
Troubleshooting and diagnostics
As a device behaves unexpectedly, support teams can connect directly to its configuration interface via Remote Config to inspect settings, check output states, or adjust parameters — without relying on the on-site staff to relay information or perform changes manually.
Managed Service Providers (MSPs)
Partners managing NETIO infrastructure on behalf of their customers can service multiple client environments from one place, without requiring VPN access into each customer's network — reducing complexity and security exposure on the customer side.
Firewall-restricted environments
In network environments where inbound connections are blocked by strict firewall policies, Remote Config works without any firewall rule changes or port forwarding — since the connection is initiated outbound from the device to NETIO Cloud.

FAQ
1. What is FW version supporting Remote Config functionality? FW 5.4.2 +
2. Can I use Remote Config and a local connection at the same time? No — Remote Config and direct local access cannot be used simultaneously. Running both connections in parallel may cause access conflicts and unstable behavior. We recommend using only one access method at a time
3. Do I need to open any ports or change my firewall settings? No. The device initiates an outbound connection to NETIO Cloud over TLS (port 8883), so no inbound firewall rules, port forwarding, or network changes are required on your side.
4. Is the Remote Config connection secure? Yes. All communication between the device and NETIO Cloud is encrypted using TLS (MQTTs), the same standard used in online banking.
5. Does Remote Config work with all NETIO devices? Remote Config is available for all NETIO devices that support NETIO Cloud connectivity.
6. Do I need a specific NETIO Cloud subscription plan to use Remote Config? No — Remote config runs with all subscriptions
7. Can multiple users access the same device via Remote Config simultaneously? Access is managed through NETIO Cloud user roles and organization settings, so multiple users can be granted access with different permission levels.
8. What happens to Remote Config access if the NETIO Cloud service is unavailable? Remote Config requires an active NETIO Cloud connection. Local API access remains fully functional regardless of cloud availability.
