The new Firmware 3.1.0 brings several new features for all NETIO 4x products (NETIO 4 / 4All / 4C). One of them is Modbus/TCP reading protocol support (V, Hz for a device and A, kWh, TPF, W for each socket) or write (control outputs of electrical sockets).
The Modbus/TCP protocol is a simple communication protocol, popular in industrial automation, I/O and PLC control.
NETIO 4x Modbus/TCP implementation allows you to control outputs as a bit (a coil). To keep features by NETIO products, it can be used also as 0 (Off), 1 (On), Short ON, Short OFF (reboot) or Toggle (restart) over the output register.
The Modbus/TCP protocol is widespread and very popular, but also not really secure protocol. NETIO implementation of the M2M API Modbus/TCP includes an IP filter. Using an IP filter, you can specify a range of IP addresses that can control electrical outlets via Modbus / TCP.
