Since 2018, a DPA interface for standard sensors and I/O is being defined under the name IQRF Interoperable. This means that measured values can be made available over an IQRF MESH network without a special configuration.
In the context of NETIO products
NETIO produces the PowerCable IQRF device that is compatible with the IQRF network and supports its standards for reading measurements and controlling the 230V output socket.
IQRF® is wireless transmission of small data in the non-license band, usually 868 MHz. A network topology is a mesh. Network routing is controlled by the IQMESH protocol and it is a directed synchronized flooding mechanism which makes it very robust and reliable with the ability to work in a harsh environment.
The range is 500 m in free space, with up to 240 such devices, allowing you to cover many square kilometers. The transceiver power consumption is low, it allows the device to operate for many years on battery power. Data transfer and connection to the network are encrypted by the AES-128 standard.
IQRF® features
IQRF® is a mature wireless technology, which can be easily integrated into any electronic product by ready-to-use transceiver modules, dramatically shortening time-to-market. Devices talking by the same language, IQRF® DPA commands, are fully interoperable.
IQRF® is complementary to standards (cellular, Wi-Fi, Ethernet), deploying existing communication infrastructures, enabling local autonomy in wireless mesh networks.
It is simple, secure and interoperable technology building an extremely low power network with excellent RF specifics. IQRF® transceivers communicate bidirectionally with a reasonable speed of 20 kbps. They can be wirelessly managed. IQRF® uses directed flooding routing mechanism.
An online IQRF® Repository containing all the necessary information for products certified for IQRF Interoperability is available. Applications, gateways, and clouds get information based on HWPID of a product from this place. The repository contains a list of devices, descriptive information about them, drivers and update packages.
